Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising
111-117 Lancaster Road, W11 1QT, London
The Museum of Brands captures over 100 years of packaging and advertising. You can see how tea packaging, advertising and accessories developed over several decades, and discover how well-loved tea brands evolved through their creative use of design.
DID YOU KNOW?
The designs on display here show how tea developed into family favourite brands over the 20th century. Brands such as Horniman Tea, Typhoo Tea and Lyons Tea each took on personalities of their own, but some colours, designs and styles can be seen as common to all.
Beyond the brands, tea accessories became as important as the drink itself. Caddies, cups and tea pots were commissioned for royal weddings, coronations and even for propaganda purposes.
